It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I'm so glad its the weekend (nearly) It seems like it has been a long week, especially as the weather here in Liverpool has been so bad. Its dark and miserable and I'm longing for the sunshine to reappear.
I went to Mum and Dad's last night, I usually do on a Thursday as we all go shopping together (I don't drive so I can get my "heavy" shopping) She has just retired so is taking the opportunity whilst the weather is bad to sort out all her quilting fabric before she embarks on one for my brother. In this tidying effort, she found some old sheets and some hankies which she has given to me (Thanks Mum) I'm going to have to find something exciting to do with them now! Any ideas anyone?
The buttons were in the bottom of the box mum gave me, I suspect that she'll want those back but I thought I'd photo them anyhow!!!
I do love an unexpected find!!!! Here's hoping that everyone has a fab weekend and that the weather gets much better and we transfer the rain to those that want it! Don't do anything I wouldn't!!!

Ohhh! what lovely hankies! I did see napkins made into a quilt in Vintage Fabric style... but they were heavier, and would wear better. You could join them up into a little pelmet or cafe curtain... if you have a small window.
Have a good Friday & a great weekend.... and I hope I would never do anything you wouldn't do!!
Ooh those hankies are really gorgeous. The sun is shining hear now so I hope it is in Liverpool too. Have a lovely weekend.
Hmm, what about an adorable skirt made from hankies! All floaty and fluttery? Or maybe you could applique some of the blooms onto tea towels, or make a book bag out of them! Oh, or you could use them to wrap gifts with, sort of whimsical to unwrap a hankie to find a book or a gift inside.
I suppose nose blowing isn't an option then? No, didn't think so. Gosh, I don't have any ideas I'm afraid but I liked the cafe curtain and the book bag idea. What about arty little dolls with handkerchief frocks?
yes I do want the buttons back and maybe the hankies as I now have some ideas what to do with them !!!its your turn to make tea tomorrow
I remember those hankies! Or at least ones very similar. No wonder your Long Suffering Mother wants them back. (Shame on you for giving them away in the first place!)
Don't you dare cut them up! We'll think of something to display them to their best very soon... Watch this space!
I so envy the hankies! I love vintage hankies... its the one thing I wish I had focused more on collecting, as they are easy to store, eye catching, shabby chic, and SWEET.
The Sarah that I once knew would sell the hankies and buttons back to her mum then use the profits to buy a bevie at the pub!
Please, also, give my love to your Mum and tell her thanks for stopping by...
